    Branford Drug-Factory Bust

    On Sunday, April 27 Branford Police detectives along with members of the U.S. Postal Service and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence located at1 00 Hemlock Road, Unit 10-3. During the search detectives recovered illegal prescription narcotics, 2.5 pounds of marijuana, approximately 4 grams of cocaine, and more than $21,000 in cash.

    As a result of the seized contraband, detectives arrested 36-year-old Melissa J. Antonucci of the same address for operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, criminal attempt to commit possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.

    Detective Lieutenant William Carroll, who heads the department's Detective Division, said, "This is another investigation where our agency works in close concert with other federal agencies to remove illegal drugs from Branford's streets and arrest dealers and suppliers."

    Antonucci was released on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear on Tuesday, May 8 in New Haven Court.
