New London Elks Holds Youth Recognition Night

The New London Lodge of Elks held its annual Youth Recognition Night on May 8. Fifteen students from 8 area high schools received Lodge sponsored scholarships.

Those receiving awards were: Kerri St. Denis and Kimberly Bigelow of Montville High; Joyce Swenson, Sean Chmielewski, Conrad Clewell and Michelle Galindo of East Lyme High; Galina Smith and Ian Garcia of The Williams School; Cody Rubenstein, Brianna Grills and Kierstyn Smith of Waterford High; Ava McPhail of Ledyard High; Daniel Suitor of Norwich Tech.; Michael Jolly of Norwich Free Academy; and Kyle Roseman of Stonington High.

High school staff members, family members of the scholarship recipients and Lodge members attended the event. Bill Struzinski, Scholarship Chairperson, served as Master of Ceremonies.
