Norwich
– Power has been restored to the Taftville section of the city after a tree branch on a power line created outages tonight for almost 400 Norwich Public Utilities customers.
NPU spokesman Mike Hughes said the branch initially cut power to 43 customers when it hit the lines near Hunters Road just before 7 p.m. To make the fix, Hughes said another line had to be turned off, “for safety precautions,” leaving about 397 customers in the dark.
The repair has been completed, Hughes said, and customers should have power restored.
