    Remembering the Battle of Midway

    U.S. Navy Master Chief Radioman (ret.) Deen Brown, a crew member from the USS Trout who was in the Battle of Midway in June 1942, waits to take part in ceremonies commemorating the 70th anniversary of the battle Monday. The Naval Submarine School Silver Dolphins color guard stands on the deck of the submarine Nautilus to present the colors. Capt. Marc Denno, commanding officer of the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, delivered remarks on the battle's role in turning the tide in the Pacific theater of World War II. The West Side Middle School band played the national anthem and Navy hymn. The Groton ceremonies coincided with ceremonies at naval installations around the world.
