Body Found in Conn. River Could Be Missing Swimmer

A body has been found in the Connecticut River near the spot where an East Hampton man disappeared under the surface two days earlier.

State police say a volunteer aiding the search for 37-year-old Dariusz Czarnota found the body in Deep River on Tuesday.

Czarnota was swimming with his brother near the Chester Point Marina on Sunday when he was reported missing.

Authorities say the confluence of two currents in that area makes it a dangerous place to swim.
