The Town of Branford is spreading the word that Route One will not close over the weekend. Connecticut Department of Transportation officials notified the town engineer this morning that they will not be closing Route 1 over the weekend as planned. 

The work crews were able to complete the culvert work over the past few nights and, therefore, will not have work going on over the weekend. 

Again, there will be no road closure and no weekend work on Route 1 this weekend.
