Man charged in May shooting

Norwich — Police arrested a man this morning in connection with a May shooting on Boswell Avenue.

Charles L. Roderick, 19, whose last known address is 119 Sandy Lane, was charged Thursday with criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Roderick's arrest took place at a scheduled court appearance for an unrelated prior incident. He was arraigned on the new charges immediately following the arrest.

Police said the shooting, which happened in the area of 80 Boswell Ave., was not random, and occurred at 12:50 a.m. on May 20. No one was injured during the incident.

Roderick is being held on a $75,000 bond.
