The Ledyard Parks and Recreation Department is offering a trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., on Aug. 25 to explore the birthplace of baseball.

The bus to Cooperstown will leave at leave the Norwich commuter lot at Route 82, Exit 80 in Interstate 395, at 7:15 a.m. and return by 9 p.m. The cost is $80 for adults and $70 for children up to age 18 and includes admission to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Other baseball highlights in Cooperstown include Doubleday Field, a national historic landmark, where the first baseball games were played in 1839, and the Cooperstown Heroes of Baseball Wax Museum.
