New London man updated to fair condition after motorcycle crash

A New London man seriously injured in motorcycle accident in North Stonington early Friday has been updated to fair condition, hospital officials said Saturday.

Faiq Sukhanwar, 23, of 31 Michael Road was traveling around a right hand curve when he struck a metal beam and was thrown from his motorcycle on Cossaduck Hill Road, according to police. He was taken to William W. Backus Hospital and later flown by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital, where he had been listed in critical condition.
