Financial exploitation of seniors is topic of film, panel discussion Oct. 18
Mystic — A free program about the financial exploitation of seniors will be held Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Olde Mistick Village Art Cinemas.
A 22-minute film called “Last Will & Embezzlement,” will be shown. Produced by Starjack Entertainment, it recounts the producer’s personal experience of her parents life savings being embezzled by someone.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion that includes Judge of Probate Nick Kepple; elder attorney R.J. Connelly III; Robert E. F. Elmer III, certified administrator of The Elms Assisted Living Residence; Stonington Police Chief J. Darren Stewart; and Assistant State’s Attorney Sarah Steere,
The program is sponsored by the Stonington TRIAD, The Elms Assisted Living Residence & Stonington Human Services and is designed to inform and empower people about financial elder abuse.
