    Groton gets energy efficiency evaluation

Groton — Peregrine Energy Group on Monday will present the town with a draft of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Action Plan.

Michael J. Murphy, director of planning and development, said the plan is the result of work of Peregrine Energy Group, hired to evaluate and assess town policies and energy efficiency at municipal buildings and school facilities. Peregrine is expected to make recommendations for future energy saving projects.

The consultant’s work, which costs $25,000, was paid from a portion of a $198,000 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant received by the town. The presentation will be made at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Town Hall annex during a special meeting of the Committee of Chairpersons.

Interested members of agencies, boards and commissions are invited to attend. The meeting is also open to the public.
