    Bat found in New London tests positive for rabies

    New London – A bat found in a home on Gardner Avenue has tested positive for rabies, Ledge Light Health District announced today.

    The bat was caught inside the house on Thursday and taken to state labs for testing. There was no contact with people or pets in the home, Ledge Light officials said.

    The public is reminded to refrain from feeding or approaching any wild animals.
