The Art Department at John Winthrop Middle School will hold a fundraiser to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Art Fest Sandy will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Artists' Walk Gallery at John Winthrop Middle School. Students and staff members from throughout the schools have been working hard to create works of art that will be available for a suggested donation. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund to help neighbors and the people of New York and New Jersey. Works include jewelry, drawings, paintings, sculpture, and various crafts. Also that night is John Winthrop's Arts and Learning Expo that includes a concert from the music department and examples of works from various classes.
