Norwich - The Norwich Free Academy Alumni Association seeks nominations for its 2013 Alumni Awards to honor extraordinary professional, personal accomplishments and service and alumni commitment and dedication to NFA.

Nominations are being accepted for the 2013 Distinguished Service Award and the Alumni Achievement Award. The nomination deadline is March 1.

All 2013 Alumni Association award winners will be recognized at this year's Legacy Day Reception, scheduled for May 6 at the Norwich Holiday Inn. Each award recipient's name will be added to a plaque located in Levanto Alumni House in permanent recognition and honor of their outstanding achievements and service.

The Alumni Association encourages the public to nominate worthy alumni deserving of recognition in the following categories:

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes dedicated and loyal alumni who have continued interest in and support of NFA or the NFA Alumni Association.

The Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni who have brought honor, recognition and distinction to the academy through exemplary achievement within their community, profession, society or chosen field.

Qualified alumni may be nominated for either award, but could only receive one award in any given year. There are no restrictions on the number of nominations a person may submit, and people submitting nominations do not have to be academy graduates. The Alumni Board will make the final selections.
