Plaza owner submits plan for new restaurant building

Norwich – The owners of the Marcus shopping plaza submitted plans Tuesday for a new restaurant building in the front corner of the parking lot at the Norman Road-West Main Street intersection.

Plans for an 8,400-square-foot restaurant/retail building will be reviewed by the Commission on the City Plan on May 21. Plaza owner Norwich Realty Associates, a subsidiary of the Simon Konover Development Corp., received permits in 2011 to build the restaurant in the corner spot, so the commission will review the site development plan only.

"While no specific tenant has been selected to occupy the building as of yet," project attorney William Sweeney wrote in the application, "the applicant is actively negotiating with a variety of potential retail and restaurant end users."
