Stonington — The Aquarion Water Co. has announced that it will conduct water main cleaning in and around the borough between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday.

The affected streets are: Bayview Avenue, Bradley Street, Broad Street, Chesebro Lane, Cutler Street, Elihu Street, Elm Street, High Street, Island Road, Main Street, Meadow Avenue, North Main Street, North Water Street, Oak Street, Owen Drive, Palmer Street, Richmond Lane, South Street, Summit Street, Tipping Rock Road, Trumbull Avenue, Water Street and Williams Street.

The company said customers may notice some discoloration in their water due to temporary disturbance of the water flow that stirs up naturally occurring minerals that settle in the mains. The company recommends that customers store water in their refrigerators for drinking and cooking and should refrain from washing laundry if water is discolored.
