    Flood watch issued for state

With rain expected to continue into Tuesday, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for all of Connecticut.

Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast to fall throughout the region tonight. With some areas already soaked from the heavy rain on Friday and Saturday, additional rainfall of 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 inches through Tuesday morning could result in flooding of small streams and rivers, along with areas with poor drainage, according to the National Weather Service.

Parts of Ledyard received more than 6 inches of rain over the weekend, while more than 4 inches fell in Groton and Norwich.
