UPDATED: Power returns to CL&P customers in East Lyme

East Lyme – Power has been restored to the more than 300 Connecticut Light & Power customers who lost electricity earlier today.
CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross said the call for the outage was reported at about 11:40 a.m. and power was shortly restored around 1 p.m. CL&P crews worked to solve an equipment issue in the vicinity of Hope and Methodist Streets in Niantic.
The main areas that experienced power outages were Pennsylvania Avenue, Smith Street, Grand Street, York Avenue and North Washington Avenue. The outage also affected Town Hall on Pennsylvania Ave.
