Norwich - The Norwich Human Services Safety Net Team is seeking donations and volunteers for its 16th annual “Back Pack It to School” program that donates hundreds of backpacks stuffed with school supplies to local needy students.

Norwich Human Services is accepting donations of backpacks for students from preschool to high school age and appropriate school supplies by Aug. 9 at the Human Services office, 80 Broadway, across from City Hall.

The department also is seeking volunteers to help organize the supplies from noon to 4 p.m. on Aug. 12 at the Rose City Senior Center, 8 Mahan Drive, and to fill the backpacks from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 13.
