Westbrook — An Old Saybrook man died this afternoon after falling into the water at the Pier 78 Marina on Hammock Road North.

State police said that at 2:55 p.m. the Westbrook resident trooper along with state police and Westbrook firefighters responded to the marina where they found that Kevin Boyle, 61, of 220 Maple Ave. had been removed from the water and was being given CPR. Boyle was taken to the Middlesex Shoreline Clinic where he was pronounced dead at 3:26 p.m.
