Ledge Light Health District Medical Reserve Corps seeks volunteers

Volunteers for the Ledge Light Health District's Medical Reserve Corps are needed to help communities in New London County prepare for and recover from natural disasters and disease outbreaks, to be a part of flu clinics and practice drills, and to assist with general community health outreach.

While those with professional medical skills are needed, those without these skills are also needed for tasks such as administrative duties, radio operation, interpretation and translation and logistics.

Four orientation sessions for new volunteers will take place this month at Ledge Light offices at 216 Broad St., New London. The sessions will be: 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 13; 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15; 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 21; and 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 22.

Those planning to attend should contact Kris Magnussen at (860) 448-4882 extension 331 or at: kmagnussen@llhd.org. For information, visit: llhd.org/mrc.
