Mystic – Town police have issued a traffic alert for motorists in the Mystic area during Sunday’s 36th running of the annual “Tarzan Brown Mystic River Road Race,” which is sponsored by the Ocean Community YMCA, Mystic Branch.  

Pearl Street will be closed between Clift Street and West Main Street from 11:30 a.m. until the end of the race at about 3:30 p.m.

Clift Street, Grove Avenue, Starr Street and Gravel Street will be closed at 12:45 p.m. for the children’s run, and again just before the start of the 1:30 p.m. race.  The closures are expected to last only a minimal amount of time, police said. 

River Road will only be closed just before the 1:30 p.m. start time and will reopen as soon as safety permits.
