    Preston school board race to be recounted this morning

    Preston – With five votes separating Democratic Board of Education candidates Karin Davis and Pauline Andruskiewicz, town election officials will conduct a recount of the entire five-candidate school board election this morning.

    The recount of 944 ballots will take place starting at 9 a.m. Saturday in the lower level of Town Hall.

    Election results Tuesday night gave Davis a five-vote lead over Andruskiewicz. In the race, voters elected four candidates, two Democrats and two Republicans.

    Republicans Jennifer Harris and Charles Raymond were elected, and petitioning Democrat Cynthia Luty received the most votes, 453, among the Democrats. Davis received 442 votes and Andruskiewicz received 437.

    The recount is open to the public.
