New London police union holds food drive Saturday

New London — The New London Police Union Local 724 will host its annual holiday food drive to benefit the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center on Saturday at the Shop Rite parking lot on North Frontage Road.

The food drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations of nonperishable goods, turkeys and cash will be accepted. The donated money will be used to purchase grocery gift cards for families in need.

The union hopes to exceed last year’s food drive collection of $1,261, 84 turkeys and 2,770 pounds of food.
