Old Mystic Fire Department collects toys, food

The Old Mystic Fire Department continues to collect toys and food to benefit local families in need through the Groton Human Services and Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.

The department has already delivered 15 boxes of food and toys to the organizations along with more than $1,000 in donations. Toys and nonperishable food are still being collected at several locations. Unwrapped toys are wanted for children from infancy to the age of 18.

Collection bins are located at the two Old Mystic fire department locations on North Stonington Road and Cow Hill Road; McQuade’s Marketplace on Clara Drive in Mystic; and the Haley Brook Marketplace on Gold Star Highway in Groton.

Monetary donations will also be accepted by the Old Mystic Fire Department. A check can be made out to either the Groton Youth Services or Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.
