    Area events canceled, delayed or rescheduled due to weather

    A list of area events canceled, delayed or rescheduled due to Tuesday's weather.

    Ledyard/

    The Finance Committee special meeting and the Conservation Commission meeting have been canceled Tuesday evening due to the weather.

    New London/

    The parking ban downtown has been lifted at 1 p.m. Tuesday. However, the citywide parking ban remains in effect. The parking ban is in place to ensure that Public Works and police crews will be able to have the city streets clear.

    There is free parking for City residents at the Water St. Parking Garage. Per winter parking regulations, cars need to be parked on the odd side of the street.

    Norwich/

    The Norwich Board of Education meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10 has been postponed to Monday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kelly Middle School.

    The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce has reschedule two events due to today's weather. The ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house at Urgent Care Center will be reschedule in January on a date to be determined.The Chamber Benefit Workshop scheduled for tonight will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17.

    The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce's Business at Breakfast event scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Norwich Salvation Army has been postponed due to the weather. The event will be reschedule at a date to be determined.

    Schools/

    The snow storm closed all the schools in the region with the exception of New London, which dismissed students early.

    The following school districts are closed: Colchester, East Lyme, Franklin, Griswold, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme-Old Lyme, Montville, Norwich, Old Saybrook, Preston, Stonington and Waterford.
