    Five hurt in Montville crash

Montville — Five people were taken to the hospital tonight following a head-on collision on Route 32, in the area of Fort Hill Drive.

The crash occurred at 7:40 p.m. and multiple fire departments were called to attend to the occupants of the motor vehicles, including two people who had to be extricated. Fire officials said one vehicle had rolled over as a result of the collision.

Route 32 was shut down while emergency medical personnel treated and later transported patients from the scene to area hospitals. The road remained closed tonight while police investigate the cause of the crash.

The Mohegan Fire Department was joined at the scene by crews from Montville, East Great Plain, Quaker Hill, and Poquetanuck departments, along with two ambulances from American Ambulance.
