Third candidate for Three Rivers presidency withdraws application

Norwich — The third finalist for the presidency of Three Rivers Community College has withdrawn from consideration and will not be replaced in the selection process, a spokesman for the state Board of Regents for Higher Education said today.

The candidate was expected to tour the campus and meet with students, staff and board officials on Monday.

Michael Kozlowski, spokesman for the board, said the candidate, who asked not to be identified, withdrew. The board will not add another finalist for the position.

Last week, finalists Dale Allen, vice president for community engagement at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, Mass., and Mitchell College President Mary Ellen Jukoski, toured Three Rivers as finalists in the search for a successor for President Grace Jones. Jones will retire June 30.

Kozlowski said the search process remains on track to name a successor by July 1.
