    My Pet Pal: Truman

    Truman

Not abused but neglected, Truman and I found each other when he was only 2. He had never climbed or descended stairs, and for the first six months, he had to be lifted into the car and then refused to get out. Raised with mini horses, he prances like a horse and is curious, obedient and lovable. Sometimes more human than canine, he no longer takes up too much of my bed after listening to me complain to a friend about my lack of leg room each night. We walk to the beach almost every day in all kinds of weather; he loves to swim, rough around with his friends, retrieve balls and roll in the sand, seaweed and leftover carcasses. He travels well to Florida and is an enthusiastic member of Pets Are Working Saints (PAWS) while there. My life is enriched by Truman and I believe he is happy with his new surroundings.
