Six students from the Arts Magnet School and Renzulli Academy at the Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School were honored on Dec. 22 for their designs for a new logo for the Renaissance City Development Association.

The RCDA had called on submissions for the new logo and received a total of 16 designs, six of which were from students.

The students submitted drawings that exhibited great creativity and received a cash award, a framed copy of their drawing and two tickets to the Garde Arts Center.

The logo contest was sponsored by RCDA Board Member and Vice President and General Manager of Atlantic Broadband, Chap Hanley, who agreed to fund the $500 for the designer of the winning logo.

The designer of the winning logo, who wishes to remain anonymous, contributed Atlantic Broadband’s $500 contribution back to the RCDA for distribution among the students. The winning logo can be viewed at http://www.rcda.co/.
