Waterford Green party endorses candidates for November election

Waterford – The town's Green Party has endorsed five candidates for the municipal election in November.

They are Kevin Kelly for the Board of Finance, Billy Gene Collins for the Zoning Board of Appeals, Baird Welch-Collins for Representative Town Meeting District 2, Joshua Steele Kelly for RTM District 3, and Carl D'Amato for RTM District 4. Welch-Collins and Kelly are co-founders of the town's Green Party.

Since winning its first seat in town government in the 2015 election, the Waterford Green Party has seen increased participation. Since the 2015 election, it gained two more seats on town boards and commissions and had two members become justices of the peace. There is also an increase in the number of Green Party candidates running for office in 2017.

Candidates endorsed by the party will be meeting within the next few weeks to formalize their platforms.
