AGENCY: Catholic Charities
THEIR SITUATION: The two sisters and their families left Puerto Rico shortly after Hurricane Maria. Both families were left devastated — their homes were flooded and nothing could be salvaged. Subsequently, they lost both homes and all of their belongings. The two families moved to Connecticut with the help of their aunt who lives in the state, but soon neither family will have a permanent living situation. They speak limited English and are not employed.
WHAT TO GIVE: Gift cards (Walmart, Target or a regular Visa gift card), clothing, linens, toys for the children, and potential employment referrals.
