MAKE A DIFFERENCE: NORWICH HUMAN SERVICES

WHO: Joselaine lives in Norwich and has two minor children: a girl, age 13, and a son, age 4.

AGENCY: Norwich Human Services, 100 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360.

HER SITUATION: She had been employed at Mohegan Sun when she contracted a pulmonary infection that eventually led to sepsis. She has been hospitalized since March. The sepsis has destroyed the functioning of both hands and both feet permanently. Eventually, her limbs will self-amputate, making her recovery and care of her children extremely challenging. She is unable to earn money to support her children, who are in the care of others.

WHAT TO GIVE: Joselaine’s children need support. The family needs cash assistance to help care for the children. Gifts of age-appropriate toys would be appreciated. Gift card to food and clothing stores (TJ Maxx, Walmart, Shop Rite) would be appreciated.

TO DONATE: Contact Norwich Human Services Director Lee Ann Gomes, (860) 823-3778.
