Preston adjusts school calendar for snow days

Preston — Parents of schoolchildren, mark your calendars.

With six school cancellation days already in the books for this year — four snow days and two October power outage days — the Board of Education voted Monday to convert Friday, March 9, from a teacher professional development day to a full school day for students.

The professional development day for teachers will be added to the end of the school year. Currently, school for students would end Thursday, June 21, if no new snow days are added. The teacher professional development day would be Friday, June 22, Superintendent Roy Seitsinger said.
