Andy Lockwood to launch campaign Tuesday for 46th District state rep seat

Norwich — Republican Andy Lockwood plans to announce Tuesday he is seeking to run for the 46th District state representative seat.

Lockwood, a licensed realtor and small-business owner, officially filed paperwork with the State Elections Enforcement Commission Friday and will host his campaign kickoff event Tuesday at Scranton Chevrolet from 7 to 9 p.m.

Lockwood has been a frequent candidate for local and state office for several years. On three occasions - 2010, 2014 and 2016 - he ran for state representative for the 39th District, which represents New London. In 2009 he also ran for a seat on New London City Council and in 2011 he ran as a petitioning candidate for mayor.

However on none of those occasions was he elected to office.
