DOT to hold info session Wednesday on bridge replacement on Route 1 in East Lyme
East Lyme — The state Department of Transportation will hold an informational meeting Wednesday on the proposed replacement of a bridge over an unnamed brook on Route 1 between Heritage Road and Lovers Lane.
The presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Town Hall and DOT officials will be there starting at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting notice states the bridge will remain relatively in the same location and the road profile will remain unchanged.
The DOT said it expects construction on the roughly $700,000 project, with 80 percent federal funds and 20 percent state funds, will take place in the fall of 2019, depending on funding. Construction will happen during a weekend closure, with traffic detoured using Route 1 and Interstate 95. Off-peak lane closures will occur "as needed."
Those who want to discuss the project can contact Louis Bacho at (860) 594-3212 or louis.bacho@ct.gov. Drawings are available for review at Town Hall.
