Public hearings on proposed Old Lyme affordable housing development postponed

Old Lyme — The public hearings, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday at Town Hall, on affordable housing proposals for Neck Road have been postponed at the request of the applicant, according to a town notice.

The hearings will instead take place at 7:30 p.m. June 5 at Town Hall.

HOPE Partnership and the Women's Institute for Housing and Economic Development are proposing 37 housing units, within 11 townhouse-style buildings on two adjacent land parcels by the Interstate 95 North Exit 70 off-ramp and Neck Road (Route 156). Graybill Properties, LLC is the property owner. Twenty-nine of the units would be affordable at varying levels, and the remaining eight would be market rate, according to Lauren Ashe, HOPE Partnership's executive director.

One application is for 23 dwelling units at 18-1 Neck Road, called River Oak Commons I, and the other application is for the next 14 dwelling units at 18-2 Neck Road, called River Oak Commons II.
