    Ledyard High School students take home honors in NAMI essay contest

    Three Ledyard High School students were honored for their submissions in the 10th annual “Breaking the Silence about Mental Illness” essay contest sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southeastern Connecticut.

    Gabrielle Terrapin of New London won first place for her essay, “The Good and the Bad Stuff.” Salena McCloud of Lisbon won second place for her essay, “Friends.” Lilia Burdo of Norwich won third place for her essay, “Separating from Separation Anxiety.”

    More than 100 Ledyard High School students participated in the contest as part of their health class curriculum. For more information, visit namict.org.
