Norwich – With temperatures expected to reach the high 90s and a heat index topping 100 degrees, Norwich Public Utilities has extended its power alert through today, asking customers to reduce power usage between 2 and 6 p.m.

Customers can reduce electric usage without affecting their quality of living by limiting their use of washers, dryers, stoves, and other non-essential appliances, and by turning off unnecessary lighting during the peak period of the power alert.
