Resident troopers host Safety Day, DARE graduation at Salem School

On June 18, Salem School students participated in the second annual Safety Day, organized by Resident State Troopers Chris Pariseau and Luke LaRue.

Students met with emergency responders from the Major Crime Division, K9 Patrol and members of the Salem Volunteer Fire Company. They also were visited by the state’s LifeStar helicopter and its crew.

The school safety officer from Colchester also visited to give a presentation on personal safety.

On June 20, Trooper LaRue presented the graduation ceremonies for the fifth- and eighth-grade students who participated in the school D.A.R.E. program, funded in part by the Salem Lions Club.

Students created posters and wrote essays about what the program has meant to them, with the top three in each category receiving an award at graduation.
