Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce grants scholarships
Three high school graduates were recognized at the annual dinner of the Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce on June 20.
The awards were presented by scholarship committee co-chairs Russ Gomes and Olwen Logan, state Rep. Devin Carney, R-Old Lyme, and state Sen. Paul Formica, R-East Lyme.
Mason Swaney and Amanda Marsh received the LOLCC 2018 Business Leadership Awards. Brandon Lee received the LOLCC 2018 Scholarship for Promise and Achievement in the Arts.
The chamber also named Patrick Looney, Alex Montville, Ann Cote and Aoife Hufford as the Business Students of the Month.
Outgoing LOLCC President Olwen Logan announced the chamber’s four primary goals for the 2017-2018 year had all been achieved or surpassed, including increasing membership and publishing a new member directory and guide.
New members named to the board of directors at the meeting include Dan Henderson, Jean Wilczynski, Gene Chmiel, Doug LoPresti, Heather Gagnon and Suzanne Thompson. Rich Shriver will serve as president, Joann Lishing as secretary and Tim Griswold as treasurer.
