    Animals to go

Cindy King, of Animal Show on the Go, shows the audience a snake skeleton as an introduction to the two Corn snakes she is presenting on Tuesday July 17, 2018, at Bill Memorial Library in Groton. King's exotic animal rescue operation is based in Portland, Conn., and she takes in non-traditional pets that have been abandoned or surrendered by their owners for a variety of reasons. She keeps dozens of animals and brings a small selection of the most crowd-friends creatures to schools and other events to educate about them. The show Tuesday is part of the library's Libraries Rock! summer reading program. (Sean D. Elliot/The Day)
