Stonington -- The Democratic Town Committee voted last Wednesday to endorse Ned Lamont for governor and Susan Bysiewicz for lieutenant governor.

The motion to endorse them was made jointly by Kate Rotella of Mystic and Chris Donahue of Pawcatuck who are seeking the Democratic nomination to run for the 43rd District state representative seat. The primary will be held Aug. 14.

“Seeing Chris and Kate stand together sends a strong message that we are united in the effort to win in November,” said town committee chairman Scott Bates in announcing the endorsement.

He added that “Kate and Chris know that when they win in November, they need a governor and lieutenant governor who will bring people together to move us all forward.”
