    Community conversation, skits on youth topics to be held Wednesday in New London

    New London — "Let's Talk," a community conversation featuring skits and dialogue on topics facing youth, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Williams Park on Broad Street.

    The New London Community and Campus Coalition, Safe Futures and New London Youth Affairs are holding the free community event on relationships, drugs, alcohol, prevention, awareness, driving, peer pressure and healthy lifestyles for youths, among other topics. The conversation and skits will be presented by the youths that were employed by the NLCCC through the NYLA Summer Youth Employment Program and in collaboration with Safe Futures.

    The rain location will be Richard Martin Center Gymnasium, 120 Broad St. in New London.

    The NLCCC's mission "is to promote healthy vibrant and productive lifestyles" for New London teenagers. Safe Futures' mission "is to save lives, restore hope and change the future for those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault in Southeastern Connecticut."
