Connecticut Sea Grant forum will showcase environmental science research

Groton — A Sept. 7 forum hosted by Connecticut Sea Grant will feature presentations on aquaculture, resilient communities, coastal ecosystems and environmental literacy, among other topics.

The 30th Anniversary Research Forum is free and open to the public, though seating will be limited and registration is required no later than Sept. 4. It will be held in Room 103 of the Marine Sciences Building at the University of Connecticut's Avery Point campus.

Sea Grant researchers will present the work they are doing in the Long Island Sound, in coastal communities and in their laboratories. The program will consist of short talks by more than a dozen of Sea Grant's funded researchers starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. Long Island Soundkeeper Bill Lucey will give a keynote address, titled "Connecting Science to Policy: Starting with the Science."
