Demolition of John's Mystic River Tavern begins
Mystic — Spectators watch Thursday as a crew from Ground Up Construction on demolishes the former John's Mystic River Tavern on Cottrell Street.
The bar closed in December of last year and in January it was announced that the adjacent Whaler's Inn had purchased the building. The Whaler’s Inn also recently demolished the two adjacent residential structures at 1 and 3 Haley St. Plans have yet to be announced for the site.
