Norwich clergy to host unity service Thursday in wake of Pittsburgh attack

Norwich – The Norwich Clergy Association will host a one-hour, multi-faith Community Service of Remembrance and Unity at 6 p.m. Thursday at Beth Jacob Synagogue, 400 New London Turnpike in memory of the victims of Saturday’s mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Rabbi Julius Rabinowitz of Beth Jacob Synagogue, other members of the Norwich Area Clergy Association and local elected officials will lead prayers for those who were murdered and wounded at the Tree of Life Synagogue and to honor emergency responders.

“The service will also be an important opportunity for the Norwich community to come together with neighbors and try to understand what we can do to restore inner peace and national harmony,” the clergy association wrote in a press release announcing the event. “We will hear about alternative courses of action to help heal our communities and country and put an end to the hate that has surrounded us.”

People of all faiths are invited to attend and participate. There is ample free parking.

For more information, call Rabbi Rabinowitz at (914) 380-532.
