Salem School recently supported an officer training session for the D.A.R.E. program, with officers from around the state and one from New Jersey visiting the school Jan. 17.
Resident Trooper Luke LaRue, who works with the preschool, fifth and eighth grade classes through the school’s D.A.R.E. program, is also trained to teach the program to other officers.
The 12 officers in attendance met with students and talked about safety and other issues in the D.A.R.E. curriculum. Many students also asked the officers about their work routines.
