CuriousCT takes on tolls: We want to hear from you

As legislators, special interest groups and grassroots organizations debate highway tolling proposals including one from the Lamont administration, The Day is exploring the impact tolls could have in our region.

Gov. Ned Lamont and state Department of Transportation officials last month outlined the latest details of their proposal, which would affect the Merritt Parkway and interstates 84, 91 and 95. Though it could change, DOT's recommendation is to install 53 overhead electronic gantries, charge 4.4 cents per mile and offer an up to 50 percent discount for Connecticut residents, The Connecticut Mirror has reported.

As we look deeper into theirs and other proposals — the state legislature's Transportation Committee also passed two toll-related bills that were not Lamont's — we want to hear from you:

[naviga:li]Where do you start your commute and where does it end?[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]What’s your occupation, and how often do you make the commute?[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Would you reasonably be able to avoid the impacted roadways?[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]What concerns, if any, do you have about the toll proposal?[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]Would you be more likely to support it if you knew where the money was going? Why or why not?[/naviga:li]
