New London Landmarks to hand out preservation awards

New London — New London Landmarks will present three preservation awards at its annual meeting on April 11 at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

“This year we’re honoring Yehuda Amar for his restoration of 147 Bank Street, Constance Kristofik for her volunteer work organizing This Old Home Show, and Marilyn Graham of HOPE Inc. for the years she’s devoted to rehabilitating New London’s housing stock while helping people achieve affordable homeownership,” said Laura Natusch, executive director of New London Landmarks.

Guest speaker Elizabeth Shapiro, director of operations, preservation and museums at the State Historic Preservation Office, will discuss the statewide historic preservation plan. Natusch will present a virtual tour of 23 Franklin St., the former home of Linwood Bland Jr. that New London Landmarks purchased last year.

Light refreshments will be available. The free event will be held at the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 19 Jay St., New London. Mingling starts at 5:30 p.m. and the program runs from 6 to 7:15 p.m. For more information, call (860) 442-0003 or email director@newlondonlandmarks.org.
